How to calculate your Kua number
Take the last two digits of your birth year, add them together, and reduce to a single digit. Males subtract that digit from 10 (for births 1900–1999) or 9 (for births 2000 onward); females add 5 (1900s) or 6 (2000s), then reduce to a single digit. If the result is 5, males use 2 and females use 8. Feng shui follows the solar calendar, so if you were born between January 1 and February 3 (before Li Chun, the Start of Spring around February 4), use the previous year as your birth year.
